James Wynne is an admitted attorney with over 25 years of experience and a B.A. LLB from the University of Natal. His career has spanned private practice at a major South African law firm, an in-house role at the legal division of an international auditing firm, and overseas experience as in-house counsel. He has also served as a non-executive director and trustee of a national medical aid scheme, contributing to strategic governance and regulatory oversight.
James is a qualified commercial and family mediator and practises as an independent legal adviser specialising in commercial law. At StratEcon, he contributes to projects requiring regulatory and policy research, analysis and reform, bringing a critical legal lens to economic consulting work across sectors including gambling and gaming, infrastructure, healthcare and the ease of doing business.
